This bike has been going back & forth to work in Houston three or four days a week (28 mile round trip) since about New Years 2005. Many thanks to Chris Bull of Circle A Cycles in Providence, in particular his web site, for my first inspiration. Special thanks to my girlfriend and my family for encouragement; Walter Lapchynski (#757) for the idea of a folding fixed gear bike; and Green Gear Cycling in Eugene, Oregon for their ingenuity and workmanship and for making a custom bike reasonably affordable. I use the packing / folding capability for travel but not for commuting as Guy does (#1452). Gearing is 54-15 for 73 gear inches.
The small wheels not only fit in a suitcase but are also good in terms of strength, weight, aerodynamics, acceleration, and handling. Good for drafting, too.
