Hello from Seattle!!!
My Name is Matthew Bianchi and I Love the site. I find it horribly
addictive, and after over a year of lurking in the shadows and looking at
all the other great bikes out there, I am glad to submit my new venture into
the fixed gear world... The elusive fixed gear Mtn Bike!!!(yay!).
I started with a 2005 Kona Explosif frame and built it up with an On-One
SuperLight 5-piece steel rigid fork, IRO fixed MTN hub, and random crankset
I bought at my shop.
A Surly Fixed Cog mated to a Coda chainring wrapped by a KMC 410 Gold
chain takes care of the drivetrain.
I am running a 32t/17t gearing right now, and the stopping duties are
MORE than taken care of by a Hayes El Camino XC 6" disc up front. My bars
are Answerproducts ProTaper carbon risers and the saddle/seatpost are Fizik
Nisine and Titec X-wing. I cannot stress how fun this thing is in the dirt.
