I love your site and visit daily. After three years of ogling I've finally put together my own fixie. While Wellington, New Zealand is better known as a mountain bikers paradise, there are enough flat parts to make a fixie a realistic alternative, especially when you live in the Eastern suburbs, where I do. Here's the build so far.
The frame, brake callipers and pedals were bought off Trademe (NZ Ebay). Other bits are from various bike shops around the NZ & the world.
Frame: Bob Jackson 70's/80's ish 21" c-t Reynolds 531 steel frame Cranks: Miche 167.5mm BB: Miche (Kinex) Wheels: Miche large flange, 32hole, Wheelsmith DB SS spokes, Mavic OpenPro rims Gearing: 48/18 70.1 Gear Inches Tyres: Michelin Erilium Kevlar Brakes: Campagnolo somethings (Any ideas?) Levers: Tektro R200, Ergo pattern Seatpost: Miche Supertype Seat: Brooks B17N Antique Brown Stem: Cinelli 1A 120mm Bars: Cinelli Criterium 42cm/ Brooks Antique Brown leather tape Pedals: Shimano M520 SPD because that's what my other bikes use too.
