This is teh oldest Colnago I have ever seen in over 30 years of collecting and living vintage bikes. It was built for Dante Fornelli, a contender for the Rome Olympics 1960 team, but dropped out due to injury. Italy still kicked ass with the great sprinted Dante Gaiardoni (I'll submit his bike at a later date).
The bike is completely original and unrestored.

One of the earliest known Colnago's, this cycle has been carefully stored by it's original owner since it was constructed in 1959, It was built for Dante Fornelli, a contender for the 1960 Rome Olympics who did not make the squad due to injury. In anticipation of victory in Rome, Colnago produced a special set of decals for this cycle commemorating the event which he used on his cycles until 1968.
