I built this bike to explore some of New Zealand's gravel roads. I found the frame, which I am pretty sure is a 1970's Carlton, sorely neglected at the local Green Bike Trust. The tubing is pretty solid (read heavy) and seems to have resisted the worst of the abuse over the years. I had the frame powder-coated. Parts are from the usual suspects (Nitto, Brooks etc). I built the wheels myself (albeit under the expert eye of an experienced wheel-builder). At the risk of tempting fate, they appear to be holding up very well even after some pretty heavy rough stuff. Gearing currently 56 inches (36x18). Very comfortable and fun!!
Thanks for looking
