Thank you for an opportunity to share some photos of my first Fixed Gear Bike, and my first time ordering and building a bike from scratch with the help of my friend Michael at Firehouse Cycles in Yardley, PA!!!

The frame and fork is a Gunnar Street Dog, special ordered from Waterford with Black-on-black paint job & decals (August '08 color of the month)...but my personal dimensions fit nicely to their 58cm stock frame, so I didn't have to go completely custom. Only 3 decals can be found on the bike, Gunnar on the down tube, Gunnar footprint on the Head tube, and Made in USA at Waterford, Wisconsin on the chainstay...and all w/muted silver outlines. It rides so smooth...I can't stop riding it...its indescribably perfect!! :)

Other details:

Mavic Open Sport wheels & Miche tires...Surly hubs, cog, and chain ring. Thomson Seatpost and Stem. Brooks Swift saddle (don't listen to those guys who complain about Brooks, mine is as supple as it is beautiful!). My Brooks bag and bar tape are still on, stay tuned for an UPDATE photo :). Pro Design bull horn handlebars and brake levers (for safety...the day I have to use them, I am sure I will be happy I put them on), and I upgraded the cabling to Gore's lined cables...pretty smooth. In the spirit of recycling, I leveraged my Shimano Ultegra breaks, cranks and bottom bracket that I had spare in my garage after I upgraded my Carbon bike to the Dura Ace package...I just used a trusty kitchen green scrub pad to rub off the Ultegra logos and it looks great!

Since I moved from San Mateo, CA to Newtown, PA recently, my son gave me a "California David" bicycle license plate last Christmas and that completed the look!

Here in Newtown, PA...we have our own "Waterford, PL", so I thought it appropriate to capture the irony in a photo.

I'd love to hear <>
