This started out as a fat tired coaster braked coffee cruiser, but I was looking for something speedier and it morphed into the current mutant configuration - a bit of a homage to a variety of sub genres (mtb, bmx, cross, cruiser) that have entertained me over the years. A scattered mix of old & new that (to these eyes) work well together.

Frame: 1970 Typhoon. Sandblasted, shaved chainguard & kickstand mounts, and powdercoated.

Pedally department: JAD bmx cranks (machined hollow w/ titanium axle), Profile chainring, and depending on my choice of expedition / footwear, Crank Bros Egg beaters or Specialites T.A.'s & clips.

Seating: Stock post, Profile BMX clamp, NOS Brooks B5N w/ swallow-esque reprofiling.

Front end: NOS Alan aluminum cross fork, Paul cantis, junk steel headset, Profile BMX XL stem, Vintage Syncros Shotgun (no bend) bar, drilled out old XT brake lever (a weight weenie relic from years gone by), & ODI ruffians.

Wheels: Pauls hubs, db Wheelsmith spokes, Polished Sun CR16TII rims & Vittoria cross tires for the occasional off pavement excursion.

It's long & lazy handling, and the frame is lead pipe, but it never fails to put a smile on my face.
