Here's my newest completed project. It's a '74 Hillman, built by Australian cycle legends at Hillman's bikes. Mr. Hillman was a legend of the track, racing until his 80s.

I had the frame powder coated green. It came without forks, so I contacted Hillmans and got a set of old forks that they used back in the day. I had the forks chromed. Since the frame came to me with it's original paint job, I had a local graphic designer copy the original decals, so the stickers are exact replicas of the originals. Crankset is a Campagnolo Chorus, from the early nineties. Pedals are Lyotards, cages are Soma. The bars are Soma Major Taylors, which feel really good when I'm out riding. The tape is Charge 'Leather'. I've got bar end lights at the back of the bars as well, which are definitely useful for late night riding. The stem is a Nitto Pearl, NJS. Saddle is a Brooks Special B17. I had the wheelset built up when I got some Velocity rims on the cheap. They are Surly hubs, laced to Velocity Deep Vs. The tyres are Soma Everwear. The chain is an Izumi track chain, NJS.

I had messed up a little with the seatpost. I ordered a vintage campy Nouvo Record off E-Bay, but had mistaken measurements for the seat tube. As a result, the 27.2 seat post I got didn't fit...So for now I have a no-name post, but it goes well with the colours of the bike.

Much appreciation to Victor at Cycle City in Manukau for all the work he put in for this project.
