Your site inspired me to dig out this old photo of my first fixed gear bike. It's a Huffy frame, purchased new at K-Mart as a coaster brake "racer". A friend provided the old high-flange Campy tubular wheels which, along with the f ront brake and lever, are the only alloy parts. Everything else is steel, right down to the stamped pedals and dropouts. And of course, the one piece "Ashtabula" crank. I rode it to 3rd place in the 1000 Meter Sprint at the 1973 Minnesota State Track Championship. Wish I still had it. (The ability to ride to 3rd place, that is. The bike really wasn't all that good.)
Thanks again for the great site,
